    Prom Night 1980

I never seen Prom Night before.

Always wanted to but never got around to it.

One of my channels played it the other day.

Got my popcorn and got all ready.

I must admit, that movie STUNK to high Heaven

How was this movie so popular ?

The plot was too easy to predict and the red herrings were laughably transparent.

It also would have been nice if they hired actors under 30 to play highschool kids

    Man, what a let down

Made Friday the 13th look like Gone With The Wind

I haven't seen it in ages. Probably not since cable in the early 80s. I remember it being pretty bad even back then. I can't imagine it has aged well.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I rented this about a year ago, having never seen it before, and I am having a hard time even remembering any of it. So, yeah pretty forgettable.

I think I recall the sequel, a demonic looking prom queen stuffed in a locker on the cover, or something like that? Not sure about the original. I saw so many bad horror movies in the 80s they all blur together now.

Hello Mary Lou Prom Night 2. It was about a ghost from the 50s wreaking havoc in the 80s. Nothing in common with the first movie other than the Prom Night subtitle.

^Yes, that's it! I don't think I saw the first one then. I do recall that one, vaguely.

About the only thing I remember from the second movie is the extended full frontal nude scene of the nice looking blond.

Both flicks were awful in their own ways. The only redeeming quality in the first one was seeing Jamie Lee Curtis running around in her bra and disco dancing. I was about 12 when I saw the 2nd one at the theatre and haven't seen it since so I can't really remember anything remarkable about it.

Yep, it's a bad movie. It caught the wave of horror movie popularity after Halloween. Otherwise, Nobody would remember it.

The first Prom Night is B-movie genius. Masterpiece. But the remake....I don't know

It's Canadian tax shelter exploitation at it's finest but it's not a great movie by any means.

I used to live by the building at the start of the movie in my twenties, so I was reminded of Prom Night on a daily basis.

You'll just have to enjoy the scenes of Curtis disco-dancing and wonderful moments such as when the severed head of a victim rolls across the dance floor.
