Head Sculpt for Peter Criss from KISS & Lex Luthor

I was told that the head sculpt for Peter Criss from KISS is the same for the 12" Lex Luthor. Is this correct? They do look a lot a like. There's no mention of it in the Galleries. The Superman Movie came out in December of 1978. The KISS figures came earlier in 1978. So what's the story here? I found a MEGO Museum blog that talks about who Ken Sheller made the head sculpts for the Superman 12" figures. Here's a link to that blog ( http://www.megomuseum.com/blog/2008/...man-movie.html ). So it seems that the question here is, when was the KISS and Superman 12" figures in production? If they were about the same time, that would explain why Peter has the Lex Luthor sculpt. Or is it possible that Lex has Peter's sculpt????

It's indeed the same sculpt. The KISS doll thing was written a while ago before it was known.

I wouldn't be surprised to see more re-uses. Maybe check Steve Rogers or those mystery pilots...

Definitely only Ace and Gene are unique. But what I cannot figure out is, was the Lex sculpt made for Lex or Peter. It would make sense that it was made for Lex because it does not look like Peter at all. But that does not answer the mystery question. If the sculpt was made for Lex, didn't MEGO release the KISS figures before the Superman movie figures??????
