Not really. Most of the kids were older than me and they were into their baseball cards phase of life. I had two friends from school that had Megos. One only had some of the WGSH line and the other had everything from WGSH, Trek, POTA, Mad Monsters, Super Knights, and every other toy as well.

My kid brother was always sneaking into my room and stealing my Megos. I still have a picture of him caught in the act somewhere.

My dad bought most of them for me. He was never a piece-meal type of guy, when he buys something he wants the whole thing at once. It wasn't odd to see me get 10 Megos for Christmas. My Communion present from him was Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scottie, and the Klingon. I think it was the following Christmas when "Santa" gave me the entire first wave of Star Trek aliens for Christmas. I think the previous Christmas was the POTA treehouse with the entire first wave of figures.

Must have been a dream collection as a kid. Which ones do you own now? and got any pictures? I love seeing other people's collections! Especially how they are displayed as I'm always looking for new ways to display mine.

Lucky guy. I never owned any until I bought one for myself when I was in my 30s, and I didn't even know it was a Mego then. I just bought it because it was Zira.

I used to play with them all the time, sometimes for hours upon end. Most broke by accident. I used to save the heads, uniforms, and accessories but my mom would throw them out because they were "broken". By the time Star Wars and Micronauts entered my playing time, the 8" Megos were pushed to the side and eventually disappeared. Entering the 80s I don't think I had any more.

My original Megos didn't survive past 1979 or so. I started buying some again this past Christmas. I currently have Superman, Shazam, Shazam, Tarzan, Cornelius, Galen, Soldier Ape (blue), Soldier Ape (brown), Zaius, Zira, Ursus, Urko, Astronaut, Verdon, Burke, Action Jackson (AA; dark blue), Action Jackson (bearded; sky blue), Action Jackson (bearded; dark blue), and a CTVT Jet Jungle. I have been toying with the idea of adding Batman, Robin, Captain America, and Aquaman to the collection. We'll see.

As far as displaying them, I just have them standing on a shelf on a bookcase.

Sounds like you've got a nice collection going now. The ones you mention should be an easy add depending on price and condition. Good luck!

Truthfully my original plan was to not get anything beyond POTA. But the memories of having the WGSH made me sentimental so I bought my 2 favorites first. I wanted Aquaman 3rd but the prices for a decent one go beyond what I want to spend on it.
