I just noticed the headline on the paper the Penguin is reading. Gordon and Bullock slay Wayne killer.

I had imagined a one-armed man type search for the killer culminating with Bruce and Gordon catching him in the final episode.

Wow, yeah. That's the first time I really looked at the headline. Guess that's a pretty big spoiler. I also thought it might be in a final epsiode. Maybe his death is what brings Mooney to Gotham.

They might slay the Wayne Killer, but I'm guessing based on the arc-structure of most contemporary series these days, "Joe Chill" or whomever won't be a random mugger and the folks responsible will still be running around the series.

Love the elements of Batman Year 1 they are weaving in. You can see them setting something up with Sarah Essen and Gordon to play with! I'm a big fan of the comic Gotham Central, so this should be cool as well. I dont' doubt we'll see Montoya or even Cris Allan at some point.

Anyone else listen to the Fatman on Batman podcast with Paul Dini where they were riffing on a Smallville version of Batman where he's at private school?

^ I could see the show tracking Bruce in school, Gordon in the police Dept. And villains rising up in the unworldly ranks.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Allen and Montoya at some point, but I hope they wait a while. I dont think Leslie Thompkins has been mentioned, but if they were going to use her in the traditional sense, she'd be in the first episode.

If they did go the boarding school route, Harvey Dent, Tommy Elliot could be students as Dini and Smith suggested or even Oliver Queen and Lex Luthor could be guests until moving to othe schools.

The producers could do a lot worse than adding Dini to the writing staff.

Gotham Central was an excellent title. Rucka and Brubaker did some good stuff trading off arcs. Can't believe DC let them walk away from its writer's pool without more of a fight.

Too bad the WB won't just allow a regular Batman show. It could start with about 6 episodes detailing the Wayne's murders and the early relationship with Alfred, jump ahead to when Bruce is 18 and do about 10 episodes of training, and the last 6 on his first couple of outings in the cape.

Come back in the second season and do more early Batman stuff culminating with Gordon, Batman and Dent teaming to take down the Gotham families.

Third season Harvey goes bad and introduce Dick Grayson. All the other villains could be introduced along the way. If Smallville ran for 10 years, this one might go 20., lol.

Great to see Donal Logue, he's come a long way since his days as Jimmy the Cab Driver.

Notice the buildings behind Selina are making her "ears" in the promo shot.
