        Gargon and Rom still banned!
Really? Of course I'm speaking as an "outsider" but I think it is incredibly awesome that the Terron/Gargon and ROM ended up being a part of Palitoy's Action Man line. Especially ROM, when I first found that out, it blew my mind! If I ever get a boxed ROM, I'd much prefer to have a Palitoy version compared to the Parker Brothers version.

yeah, I hated Rom, The Intruder and Bulletman really didn't belong in the AM range. They just didnt fit in with the vibe that Palitoy had established with their military based Action Man. I guess at the time, Joe had moved over to a more adventurous role, given the sentiment in the US about war in the mid 70's. But here we had no such issues, so these three just seemed to be a stark and unwelcome contrast. Just my opinion, mind you. However, I do love all the Action Team and Super Joe stuff. Super Joe made it over here as Commander Power! And he was awesome. Shame his joints & hands were so poorly made though.

            Hi,

Just the best Xmas present -nothing will top all the adverts you have given us access to.

I have nearly collected every toy I had as a child , (well the ones I can remember ) - all those adverts are now the icing on the cake!

Will you be putting the adverts on a DVD ?

            ALSO

I Wonder who was the voice for the LITTLE BIG MAN , POTA , ACTION MAN adverts (not the tom baker voice )

And wonder what has happened to the KIds in the adverts?

              Your welcome

Loads more to go up. Will probably slope away boxing day and prep a few (boxing day being the 26th here in the UK
              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_Day )

Voice over wise, all the Action Man adverts apart from The Tom Baker ones were voiced by Patrick Allen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Allen) who was ubiquitous throught the 70's and 80's. Americans will have heard him as the Last Voice You'll Ever Hear from Frankie Goes To Hollywoods TWO TRIBES.

              Sadly no longer with us.

As for the kids in the adverts, Im sure they will materialise at some point. I guess after a late nite ego surf session, no doubt fuelled by a glass or two of red.

Yeah, our Palitoy Death Star Playset was unique to Palitoy, and designed by Bob Brechin here in the UK. Bob is still around and a lovely chap! he also designed many of the cool assets for our Action Man range, and was responsible for the Gripping hand, and based the prototype on a sculpt of his own hand.

Fortunatly, Bob was not responsible for the Intruder, and import that was so far removed from the Action Man range, it never really took off.

Still, I find the Intruder (with hindsight) quite an interesting enigma. So much so, I just did a laser scan of it, for later use

                    Enjoy

In 1978 the economic boom was in full swing. Hong Kong soon became a tourist trap, more than ever. No more junks with sails in the harbour. Nathan Road full ...

from 3:40 onwards.... interesting look at HK manufacturing of toys.

Can't access the commercials , it asks for a password-

Orginal poster says password is atomic - but password doesn't work - any ideas?
