    Vintage Star Trek Toy Love

A very cool "back in the day" piece of Star Trek coolness courtesy of Jerry, whose patient mom converted a red sweatshirt into a perfect trek uniform. Word of advice young Jerry, don't volunteer for any landing parties. If I wasn't already envious of that sweet Remco Ultility belt, Jerry rubs in it a little with his parting words "That utility belt was
    awesome, I tell ya...".

Thanks for the great submission Jerry, if anyone else has some toy love they'd like to share, drop me a line.

    That is very cool.

Maybe I could force my kids to dress like this.

      NEAT!

When I was a kid they actually made shirts like that. (My kindergarten pics have me in the red one.) I've never seen the Remco belt; but I had the AMT/Ertl model kit set that had the phaser, communicator and tricorder. I can't begin to count how many times I ha to rebuild them....

WOW! That's great! (although little Jerry didn't look too enthused about posing for this photo!) One year (as an adult) I was Mr. Spock, and made a uniform shirt from a sweatshirt w/ a badge and brick-brack for my sleeves. Really inexpensive way to do a costume! Do ya still have the shirt, Jerry?

I had the AMT set, too and a cool hand phaser that I got from a vendor at a convention in '76 (The one purchase my mom let me make that day). Even at 10 years old I was a Captain Kirk fanatic so I had to find a gold sweater to use for my uniform. No blue or red for me
          It's all good!

Awesome picture! I love that utility belt, as well. The entire line of utility belts was great, as a matter of fact.

I'm tryin' to...here's my oldest when she was almost 2. (5 now...) BTW-she's wearing a vintage 70's ST T-Shirt, made by DonMoor.

I think almost everyone I knew had that Remco ST belt. The one I had when I was a kid came w/a Batman walkie talkie, instead of the communicator. It remained that way until I got my AMT ST Exploration set model kit.

Get a grip on that weapon, soldier!

HAW! One day when she's a teenager and brings her date over to meet you, you can whip this pic out. Priceless.
