Mego Batgirl autographed by Yvonne Craig

I was given a 1973 Mego Batgirl with the original box all in pretty good shape. The box was autographed on the back by Yvonne Craig (the original Batgirl). My question is, does this help the value of the item?

I think most hardcore collectors will tell you it actually takes away from the value (especially without any proof that she really signed it). I think it's neat, though.

I thing the sun fade takes away from an otherwise very nice piece

It's takes away from the value as straight Mego piece but there's for someone wanting that specific piece signed, it would be desirable as Batgirl seems to be one of the tougher boxes to come by.

Unfortunately as a Mego piece it's a downgrade because the autograph defaces the packaging. And without some kind of "proof" it was really her auto, it becomes much harder to sell it to a Batgirl collector. The primary value in that piece is how good of condition the figure is and if everything on her is original. I wouldn't push the packaging or auto to increase your asking price. Just the figure's condition.

I was afraid of that. Oh well. I have it up for auction on Ebay if anyone is interested. Click here to see it. The autograph definitely looks authentic compared to samples I have seen online, but I guess the only way to prove it is to get it certified.

you could send the box to psa/dna to have them confirm the autograph

if it comes back legit it would help the sale of the item. while it hurts the packaging, if it is psa/dna it could help the selling price to a 66 batman fan.

Don't be too bummed. I bet you'll still get descent money. That figure appears to be in really good shape. That will sell it right there.

Nice sale, I paid only slightly less for mine recently with a box that had slightly better color but wasn't autographed. So it looks like it helped after all!

I have a couple of figures signed, all with pics, the fonz, pouch, and space ghost flatt figure.

I hope you're not asking so you can cash in on her death. I hate when eBay floods with items of a recently deceased celebrity because they hope to monetarily benefit from it.

He posted this before she passed... now it would've been good to have it psa authenticated
