Toy Fair 1977 : Mattel put a lot of time into developing a Welcome Back Kotter line of action figures in 1977 but they had bigger success with the Shogun Warriors also making a debut in 1977. Super Joe was the one toy I hated with a passion.
I grew up with the classic GI Joe, and I hated the fact they replaced GI Joe with the super joe. I even used to turn off the TV when they aired the super joe commercials.
