Thanks a lot man, it wouldn't have been possible without your help!
Here is a group shot, I'm getting there.... I was able to add some straps to the packs... they where from a 1/6 scale backpack , I still need to do the circuit boards on the belts and work on the back of the packs.... and the proton gun.... we'll see if I finish those this year ;P In the mean time, here are the boys in grey....

Until you get an Ernie Hudson looking head you might try using that SPACE:1999, African American head as a stand-in.

Those came out excellent. You should get a screen shot of them when they're doing the TV commercial in the movie for a backdrop. That was prior to Hudson joining so he's not in it. "We're ready to believe you".
