They didn't do a series correct Mugato, why would they do a correct Gorn then? The first Gorn we'll see will most likely be a repro of the original. Hopefully we'll eventually see a Brady Gorn

My point is if it is an exclusive, I'd think it more likely to be a new version. I can't see someone sponsoring the second most common Alien unless it were new. It could be that they are just announcing a possible future release of a repro that they are pairing up with another crew member (hopefully a new figure), but if it is an exclusive, I'd bet against it being a repro.

Until Doc or Diamond specify otherwise, its just fun to guess (and hope).

If it's an exclusive then yeah, it'll probably be the Brady Gorn. But I can't see them releasing a Brady Gorn before the repro version of the original. Therefor I don't think this Gorn will be an exclusive. But I could be wrong of course

Awesome!!! Sulu has to be next! Well done!

And about the Gorn, while it makes sense to recreate the butt ugly original Gorn, it also would be much better (financially) to get a Brady Gorn as an exclusive. Let's hope that is what is happening and why we haven't seen the Gorn yet.....

Thats a really crazy question to ask....
Why would one spend $100+ on a set that is old and used when you can get a brand new for probably under $100?
With all these new figures coming out, I'm sure demand for old playsets will jump up for people to display their new figures in. I know I thought about getting one as I'm sure others have to, now I will rethink on getting an old one and I'll wait for a new one.

A nice new play set for nice new figures, thats a NO brainer!!
              Demand will be HOT!!
I just hope they do something similar with the POTA line.

the cat's out of the bag

YAH! Everything is being displayed now! Toy Fair is begun! I can talk!

Chekov and Sulu are Brady sculpts, as is the Gorn. They are not
exclusives. The Gorn is show accurate - he is not shown on the
display because he is a rough stetch prototype.

I had to sew his outfit and sculpt his legs out of wax
then fast cast a set so DST could show retailers something.

The past four months have been very stressful - between the
Mattel crisis in China and keeping these new figures a secret.

Next year EMCE Toys is coming out with our own megos in
addition to Trek and Apes - and I will be posting a production
blog to show the work in progress.

I'm not into Star Trek these days (I liked the original series when I was a kid and sometimes I watch the reruns on late night tv) but during my eBay searches for POTA and other Megos, I stumble across the Bridge playset quite often. And most times it seems to sell for less than $60, heck I've seen it "BIN" for $50. Weren't the Bridge playsets overproduced or something?

A reasonably priced Treehouse would be most welcome.

Un-boxed playsets in nice shape go for $20-40. $40 is even pushing it. Playsets with trashy boxes pretty much go for likewise. Sets in very good or excellent boxes might push up into the $50-100 range on a generous day.

                              From the MM gallery description:

The Price: The Enterprise was overproduced to a fault. (In fact, sometimes it seems like it's almost easier to find a loose, mint Enterprise than a loose, mint Scottie!) Thanks to the sheer number of these toys, they can be had for next-to-nothing. On a good day, you can even find one mint-in-box on eBay for under a hundred bucks!
I bought a beautiful playset in a pristine box a couple years ago for $30. Granted, it was partially hidden, but still...

So what's the deal with the bridge playset, Doc?

Ah, I see figures.com answers my question..

Also on display was the original Mego Bridge Playset, which Diamond will use to gauge retailer interest in a recreation of the original Mego release. Keep your finger crossed and support the line throughout this next year, to send a DST message to get that made!
