Paul McCartney (with John Lennon)

I started working on a Paul McCartney sculpt today. I want to eventually get all of the Beatles done. I'm still not satisfied with how my sculpt turned out of of Paul but it may be just a tweaking of the eyes and jaw. Thoughts?

This set of Beatles I am working on is called the "Later set" and will be based on the looks of the Beatles from the "Abbey Road" and the later record company released album "Hey Jude" album cover work done with various pictures. So George Harrison and Ringo Starr could come out looking like one of the two.

It says Paul McCartney is six foot and John Lennon is five foot eleven. George Harrison is about five foot ten and Ringo is the short guy of the group coming in at five foot seven. Not sure if I am going to make a big deal out of it with the Megos. It's not like they are Batman, Captain America or Superman where I had to design special muscular bodies for them.

No Austin, no Bible figures here. I usually do my own from scraps of vinyl purged with sculpty. That way I am not stealing someone's idea.

OK. I have spent the day studying McCartney's eyes and mouth. This actually helped when it came to reconstructing the head. I starting to get somewhere but not quite that far to take a picture.
Thank you Nostalgiabuff for pointing out the eyes. You were right and it got me to my drawing board.



A lot of you don't know me and I tend to make this project my star theme. Trying to chip away clay and flatten out a surface sandpaper (hoping it won't collapse) can be a bit tricky. You guys all gave me the ideas and I won't snap another shot until I am ready. The pictures above are just W.I.P. (Works in progress) they are not my final work. I am going to nail this and nail it good!!! Wish me luck!!!

No, those Bible Greats figures were the right scale. I used Joseph's white outfit for my 1966 Batman villain King Tut.

I scrapped that head last night anyway. I think I have a better idea. That's why we have this works in progress page. This one should turn out a bit better then the last attempt. Anyone looking for a Keith Partridge head is welcomed to my last Paul McCartney take.
