I thought the episode was okay; but I was kinda expecting to find out the deal with the Crooked Man from the previous episode.

I liked the fact that we got to see more of the Tardis. I'm hoping they'll make more use of that in the future, so that is becomes more than just the console room.

The Van Baalen brothers didn't really work. If the one guy was human after all, why didn't getting impaled in the chest by a huge metal pole bother him afterwards? He didn't even bleed.

the tardis is for all practicable purpose infinite - and infitintly reconfigurable, In castrvalva rooms were physicaally dumped to "lighten the stress" as the tardis was being forced into the big bang by Adrics course setting as forced by the master. Even the rooms that were deleted could be recreated but the contents would be lost. There is a great riff on the concept on the Paul Mcgann Audio Relative Dimensions when Pauls Doctor pulls Susan's old room from the storage and puts it near the console room again (it mentions the rooms of many old companions)

The Eye of harmony is the name for the black hole collpased by Omega and was under the panopticon in the old show. each tardis has a singularity that connects it to the Eye and that collapsing black hole. since the Doctor's is the last it is reasonable to assume he has the he eye, or made one for himself) I try not to think that hard to tie every loose end up

All in all, a decent episode.

Matt Smith has continued to grow in to the role, and now I like him better than Eccleston and Tennant.

Strax the Sontaran got in some nice lines in this one.
"Horse, you have failed in your mission" (and he gets ready to shoot the horse for not getting him to his destination)...
"I'm off to play with my grenade..." (because they won't allow him to go into a frontal attack)...

Can't they just make him the second companion, and give him a cloaking device to hide his appearance? I love this guy!

Mark Gatiss wrote a good story - funny exciting and I really like the return to vistorian clara
Thomas Thomas giving the monotone directions - ie a tom tom sat nav -
I also liked the 5th dr refernces to tegen

and the kids finding her out on the net was pretty good too

One moment, you're watching her in bodyhugging black leather, the next moment she's...well...definitely not that....

Btw, the door at the beginning of the episode sure has a nice Tardis feel to it...

As much as last week's episode disappointed me, this one hit a home run! The Doctor as the monster, Victorian Clara( somehow sexier than modern version?), Diana Rigg!!, "brave heart", Tom-Tom the navigator, and just about everything that came out of Strax's mouth...seriously, I would love a Vastra, Jenny, & Strax's series right now!

Besides the obvious Davison reference this episode seemed to have a Davison feel to it ... Perhaps because the Dr had to be rescued and he had more than one companion (helper).

It was ok, but I still found it hard to follow
