    Happy Memorial Day weekend !!!

    Happy Memorial Day weekend, peeps.....

A lot of my family served in the US military for last 100 years.

Mostly in WW2 and Desert Storm-(I'm looking at you, Pearl)

Back in the early '40's ....... I had one uncle fighting Germans in Europe....... and another uncle (his brother) fighting Japs in the Pacific both at the same time.

Even though they're both gone now.......

    Thanks, guys

People complain about the US today......

But it's because of men like my uncles that the world has the privilege of criticizing everything we do today.......

    How quickly people forget..........

Thanks to all who fought the good fight

    Mike,

Like you I had Uncles that served in the European and the Asian Theaters in WWII. When Korea came around they re-enlisted and served tours there as well.

My Dad served in Occupied Berlin and took part in the Berlin Airlift, in the early days of the cold war.

To everyone that has served past and preset, I say thank you.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

We only honor them when they are gone.

When I came back from fighting in Panama in early "90 I had no one meet me at the airport. A lot of guys had wives, girlfriends come to welcome them but since I was deployed from another base I knew no one. As I walked into the airport I saw a beautiful blond girl about 16 or 17 standing there with her father, a Colonel. Seeing I had no one she came to me, kissed me on the cheek and hugged me wispering in my ear " thanks for all you did in Panama". I was floored, this girl got it! That is the only thing a military man wants to hear. When my Dad came back from Vietnam he was greeted with shouts of "baby killer" and protests. If you see a vet tomorrow tell him thank you, he will appreciate it.

We owe everything we have today to many that died for a country they believed in. Its hard to put into words how small that can make you feel. The futures they gave up for people they never knew.
