Ok, they looks a bit better now that I've seen them up close.
The only thing that really bothers me is Kirk's belt. It's too broad, and it's too high up. Any higher, and it's a bra. A simple knotted belt would have been better.
    It's Shat's girdle from Season 3.

These are great figures. Possibly my favorite emce releases! Look great on the shelf and hopefully the last we see of Kirk and Spock for a while. Bring on data and Klingon!

Finally saw these in person today. They look great from the neck down. I am soo dissapointed that these heads are painted because it makes the look like customs.

Awesome to see Brian Leitner's name there tho. Props.

Evil Spock is a "must have". I'm delighted to see that Brian Leitner worked on these outfits and is credited. Thank you Dr MEGO for hiring this talent. You will never work with a more professional/talented individual. Brian gets MEGO scale. He might even have "Abrams" blood coursing through his DNA.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

Brian L is the man when it comes to Mego costuming. Great that he is involved, and got credit to boot!

Thanks to everyone who commented on these - positive and negative, but in
all honesty - Mirror Kirk and Spock megos in 2012!!!! Even I can't believe these
              got made!

As for the painted heads and the fit of the costumes - manufacturing is not an
exact science unless you have complete control over the factory - and there are
not enough of these figures made to justify that level of attention.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of painted heads... but it didn't stop me from buying them. Spock and Mirror Spock are battling each other as I type. And the thin, upswept eyebrows on my Kirk made me want to do this:

Hey, Doc... any chance of Diamond reissuing any of the originals? Like the Romulan?

Cool picture of Romulan Kirk. And I agree--would be great to see another run of the Romulan figure.

Between the original EMCE Kirk and this one, why the switch to painted heads?
                          .
                          .
                          .

The take I got from Doc is that it's more expensive to go the traditional way when the production is very small. So it appears the painted heads were a more viable option, financially speaking. There are always cheap Kirks sitting around at flea markets and online. I would have to say a swap out would be an easy enough fix if that's what you want.
