    You have no clue about my service, so stop talking out your ***. I've been on ebay since 1997 and selling since 99. I have 3 selling id's in different business, none of then under 99.9 all of them over 1000 sales. What have you sold? People like you that try to dictate what business should and shouldn't do who have never done anything amaze me.

    You're right, I don't sell much. In fact, I've never sold anything on eBay before. I only buy stuff I really want, so I usually don't have much stuff I want to get rid of. On the rare occasion I do have something I either give it away or start a thread in the Marketplace.
    But buyers who don't update their address on eBay have no reason to complain, it's their own fault they didn't get their package.

    Sorry man, but this is a responsibility of the seller. If you, as a seller, get to make up all the rules of the game - payment methods, time frame to pay, confirmed shipping address, ... - then you can't expect the buyer to sit by and wait till you think the time is right to ship his package. He has a right to be informed. And it's your duty as a seller to let him know where he stands

    Look, there is no doubt there is huge divide between sellers and buyers on eBay. Casual buyers have no idea what it's like selling on eBay. They have never had a chargeback. They've never been strong armed by jerky customers who demand a partial refund on something you KNOW was exactly as described. Some of the demands buyers put on sellers is completely unrealistic. Many sellers who charge exact postage STILL have like a 4.6 star rating for shipping and handling charges. I think some buyers feel they should not even PAY for postage. Which I have never understood the complaint about shipping charges, anyway. When a seller lists his shipping charge FIGURE THAT INTO THE AMOUNT YOU ARE GOING TO BID. I do this all the time as a bidder. If an item is worth 20 bucks to me, and the seller is charging 8 dollars for shipping I BID 12 DOLLARS. This concept is very simple......Hidden postage costs I can understand, but when the seller explicitly states his postage where's the surprise?

    I agree with this meule. When the auction ends, you send them an email thanking for the the payment. Telling them there item will ship tomorrow and that tracking will be emailed to them from the shipper, but you still get above daily inquiries. I can't hand deliver it and they can track it as easily as I can.

    Hey, if you're emailing them a tracking number that's a different ball game. To be honest, in this case they should just shut up and look it up.
    But as a buyer I've found out that only 2 out of 10 sellers actually communicate with their buyers. In the beginning I had every confidence in the seller (newbie mistake) and just waited for the package to arrive. After several weeks I would then finally contact them only to get a reply (after several days had gone by again) that my package was just shipped Nowadays sellers get 2 weeks (plenty of time to ship something to Belgium, Joe's done it in 4 days once) or I start emailing. The only exception I make is for Museum members or sellers I've done business with before and trust or if it's something I ordered to be custom made

    It would be nice if everything fit into a catagory. It would make things much easier. Sellers, buyers, right, wrong, black, white. Unfortunately that is rarely the case where people are involved. There are good sellers, there are bad sellers. There are good buyers, there are bad buyers. No ONE set of rules are going to protect both in all situations. In the end, do what you feel is the right thing to do, even if the other guy doesn't and don't worry about who did what first. He has to live with himself and so do you. Karma comes around eventually and you get what you give, so as long as yours is good, that's what really matters.

    I've had a couple of "high maintenance" buyers in the past.

    Usually they are people who send money orders and email everyday... "did you get my MO yet ?""did you get my MO yet ?""did you get my MO yet ?""did you get my MO yet ?"

    I always respond to to them in a very nice manner... usually somthing like ---- "Hi, no I did not get your MO yet but when it arrives i'll ship out your package straight away and then email you to let you know it's on the way ... Thanks for your bid :>)"

    I keep that responce above in wordpad so I can just copy and paste every day if need be

    I go out of my way to keep all my buyers happy--- but I still won't leave them feedback until they do me first.

    Actually this is a good thing buyers can't get a negative flamejob for leaving a deserved negative feedback now. if the buyer doesn't pay the seller intiates the unpaid item investigation. everyone wins. Now if a buyer is a slow pay just don't leave any feedback

    Actually the lower fee is a bait and switch the reduced listing fee is more than offset by Ebay's higher fee for final value percentage
