Battle for the Planet of the Apes
More Ape mash-up fun with Caesar, Cornelius II, MacDonald & Gov. Kolp
Governor Kolp was a challenging character! The face sculpt is on top of an LNJ S.W.A.T. head, which proved to be less than desirable due to the softer and finicky vinyl. I ended up using Apoxie sculpt (which bonded properly), then BIN primer and several layers of acrylic, including a matte clear coat. The signature red mutant goggles were cut from flexible plastic (from some 1/6 scale hat brim), backed with rubylith and strapped with upholstery thread. Ideally I'd like to replace his binoculars with a smaller pair and opt for a more form fitting headcap. Otherwise, he's ready for battle!
