    Mego Heads on EMCE Bodies?

Hey guys. This may have been asked before, but will Classic Mego heads fit easily on EMCE bodies? I have an extra Luthor I thought I might use to make a Retro Action Robin.

I just did some digging in the old threads and saw a fellow that did this with a RA Green Arrow. Anybody else try this?

Putting vintage Mego heads on a Doc Mego or EMCE body is definitely not a problem.
Doc's bodies are almost indentical to Mego's.
If you are talking about the Mattel Retro Action figure, that is entirely different.

I was talking about the retro action. Is that difficult to do? It looks as though there is a pin in there. If I remove the plug that holds the pin will the original head fit on the RA body?

I switched all my retro action figures to Doc Mego bodies. The RA heads have a post that goes up in the neck but is fairly easy to remove. Once you get the post out, the head is basically the same as the old Mego heads.

The RA neck plug is more shallow than the Mego neck plug. So a RA head on a Mego (or repro Mego) body works no problem. A Mego head on a RA body may require some trimming.

Hi, realize the thread is a bit old, but I've recently gotten interested in doing this (putting RA heads on Dr. Mego bodies) to get a more Mego-esque Justice League. Are there good threads with information.

I'm a total customizing newbie - all I've done before is move heads from 1 mego to another and used a knee pin from a broken mego I had to fix another one (and that took a while ! ) - so need as much info as possible.

I put all my retro figures on vintage mego bodies. The neck can make it a bit difficult to remove from the RA body. I soften up the body a bit with a hair dryer and then pry the shoulders open. Still it can be a pain. Putting the RA head on the body is not as hard and again i soften the neck plug with a hair dryer and angle it in the mego body. Using the hair dryer though you can't use it for too long or you risk melting something. I always wave the dryer back and forth and check every 15 seconds or so. Then i try putting the RA head on the mego body.

Thanks a lot for the reply and the tips. I'm going to give it a try.
Would it be basically the same method to remove and switch hands?

Found a thread which mentions swapping the hands by doing the ol' heating trick (with hair dryer or water), so I think I may be ready to give it a whirl!
