Well, they're the same man and seeing as Colin's Doctor strangled a guy once, this seems light. Plus, the guy really had it coming. i don't see it as any different than destroying a whole bunch of Daleks.

Didn't Pertwee's Doctor once just pick up a gun and kill and Ogron? I thought I read recently that they re-filmed that sequence to do a "Greedo shot first" scenario because it bothered fans.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

YES in Day of the Daleks if you watch the "enahnced Edit" disc it does look like Jon's Doctor shoots becuse it will save a unit trooper in the original version it looks like Jon just blew him away which was a bit counter to his peersona when you see how he tries to save the Sea devils, Silurans and AxosComment

This is the first time I think Smith's Doctor has been this ruthless, but it's also the first time he's dealt with someone so unrepentant and despicable.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

I thought the last episode was rather fun. My kids enjoyed the parts I thought were slightly cheesy, and we all laughed at the "man with a big weapon" joke. As usual Matt Smith mumbledhislinesmuchtooquickly (I do miss the crisp enunciation of David Tenant), and there were times when the "Doctor Who" aspect was in the back seat, but on the whole enjoyable IMO.Even My Henchmen Think I'm Crazy.Comment

Y'know.... I wasn't surprised and in retrospect I maybe SHOULD have been. The Doctor has always been opposed to violence, but not afraid to use it once in a while. Even the first Doctor was okay with using Ian and Barbara as bait once in a while. The newer Doctors seem more reluctant to end someone, no doubt due to his part in the Time War.... but there's a definite streak of mayhem there.
....not as much as, oh.... Abslom Daak, but still....
Anyhoo; I really liked this one. Plenty of weird, killer robots and a ship full of dinosaurs. I wonder if that ship's gonna show up somewhere else in the continuity.

I liked this episode a lot more than the last. Maybe a bit too much comedy which makes the serious sections seem kind of out of place, but it's nothing too uneven. I didn't think Nefertiti was acted very well, although she certainly looked the part. Still fun for the most part. Amy's still annoying in spots, but she was tolerable this episode.Comment
