Looking for something Star Trek in the MM galleries

Was at my nephews this afternoon and was thumbing through one of his old sci fi collectible books.

In the book was a Mego Star Trek toy I don't remember seeing before - and I can't find in our galleries.

It's based on the classic series and is some sort of phaser game ---

The most interesting thing about it is the box has kinda creepy artwork of Mr Spock learing at a child playing the game.

Anybody ever see this toy before ?

The book I seen it in was really old - like mid 90's or even earlier

I had that as a kid, before I even watched Star Trek! I had an 8" Mego Spock too, and for some reason just WOULDN'T watch Trek, even though my dad tried to get me too.

A friend of my dad's found the Trek phaser game outside of a dumpster or something (!) and picked it up. Having no kids, he gave it to us. Dad changed the batteries, and it worked fine. It was fun in our pre-Atari days. I think it eventually stopped working, and we trashed it. THEN I started watching Star Trek around age 6!

Hall Shull did the box artwork, notice the kid's face isn't complete in the catalog image. They took it away from him before it was done.
