Well, I just got done searching all this stuff...YES, it's all totally FAKE.
Man, am I ****ed. Since when does the Discovery channel make up fake documentaries? Now, I'll doubt everything I ever watch on there again.
You know, my wife and I were up til 2 AM talking about this...we were wondering HOW this was not front page news. I mean the discovery of a new species of human? Well, now we know.

It happens man.....don't kick yourself about it. That's why when someone says something about someone or something especially on TV or the net you have to fact check......it's a very well made Fake docu....would make for a very cool movie.........if anything you can paint some really cool Warrior mermaids for your portfolio...

probably after they saw how well it did on the Animal Planet channel who originally aired it and advertised it the same way- as being real.

I remember a similar documentary about Dragons being aired a few years back narrated by Patrick Stewart. Tho after 45 minutes they let you know it was all false info and then explained how the SPFX was done.

Discovery Channel, History Channel, TLC, and some others are not what they were set up to be.
The need for ratings has brought in a management that is more huckster than scholarly.

It kills me to see the History Channel go from teaching history to reality TV.

A few years ago there was a BBC doucmentary about how a volcano island was breaking apart
and when it did, the whole U.S. Eastern seaboard states would be underwater. I checked into
it and found that the threat was over-estimated - although London did install those gates on
the Thames to protect the city from rising sea tides, so maybe....

  6. Discovery, History, and TLC were originally set up to be scientifically and historically accurate channels that even teachers/professors could use as classroom resources. Somewhere along the way things have changed and there becoming rubbish.
Its to bad, ive enjoyed some of the history channels documentaries a lot in the past. The Barbarian and History of Rome docs were high quality.

I wish you guys were wrong about how off the path they've gotten, but you're dead on. It's a shame, really.

Don't be too disheartened. There is still a chance that there is more to this than we know.
I was kayaking in the pacific ocean yesterday and managed to snap this photo.
It looks real to me but I will let you decide.
