    Olympic Soccer

    Spain is out...shocker...and yes...not the World Cup team...but none of the teams here are...they all seem to be under 23 years old teams...with a couple of proven or veterans here and there on each team.

    Well...that was a heart attack type of a quarterfinal game that just ended.

    Mexico was up 2-0...but then Senegal came roaring back to tie the game late, 2-2.

    On extra time...Senegal made two disastrous boneheaded plays...Mexico capitalized...and ran away with the victory, 4-2.

    Mexico's goalkeeper, Corona...man...he was the player of the game for sure.

    Now they are on to the semifinals against Japan (Tuesday).



    Now it's Brazil vs Honduras in the other quarterfinal game...as I'm typing this...Honduras just scored early...and are up 1-0 against Brazil.


    BTW...these games are being shown live on Telemundo's Spanish Olympic coverage.

    I gotta get a couple of hours of sleep...I've been working on a graphics project all night long...so I'll just keep the Brazil vs Honduras on DVR...and check it out later, lol.

    Now to the topic at hand...

    Brazil rallied twice to beat Honduras, 3-2.

    Now Brazil goes to the other semifinal.

    Perhaps soccer is not popular here...but there are a few posters in here who do like soccer...and I want to give them a chance to post.

    Soccer is the world's most popular post...and it deserves a mention or two...even here.

    Plus Mexico has a chance to medal...I want them to win...in honor of my dad...he was a big el Tri (Mexican national team) fan.

    Both quarterfinals games were high scoring and thrilling...even for non soccer fans.
