Has anyone ever ordered any novelties form comic books?

I used to order tons of models from "Cosmic Connections;" an importer who ran tiny ads on them big comic ad pages.

I had a fake pack of Wrigley's-like gum that actually had a mouse-trap like mechanism that would grab your finger when you tried to get a piece. But I don't think it came from comics.

I ordered some stuff from Heroes World in the early 80s. In particular, the set of PPC's "Activated Super-Heroes".

I always wanted those novelties advertised in the comics, but never sent off for them.
Then one day I found a tobacco store in my town that sold them all on a revolving rack for cheaper than the comic ads.
I picked up the X-Ray specs, whoopee cushion, joy buzzer, snapping gum and fake dog poo.
