    Sorry for venting!!!

Not meant to offend anyone here especially the winner if he was one of us... But, Just want to say f#%$& You EBay!!! Had in my sights what I thought was going to be the last piece of my Teen Titans collection... Aqualad. He was there ripe ready for me to swoop in... I placed a couple of preliminary bids to see just where the bidding may go... All of a sudden we were there 10 seconds left the bid at $188.49 ready to be added to his trio of friends... $270 in my que just to be sure I gave myself the best chance to win this holy grail of mine 9... 8... 7... I push the button the circle pulsed wham the bidding was over and sorry you did not win this item... *** EBay!!! A nice AHI ERROR!!! If he went to someone on here congrats... But not really.

it happens, you know. I've had a couple of these in the past few months. Doesn't help that my cpu went gimpy and I replaced it with a similarly crippled cousin.
I am giving myself a few extra seconds the next go around. Hope it works.
sorry for your loss, but you will find another one. Think of the thrill of the hunt.

If you're looking for a solution, using a bidding service will alleviate the not-bidding problem.

/\ Unless you bid high, that's only the way to do it. You just can't beat at automated system.

The figure closed at $188.49. OP's problem is that the connection between his computer and ebay's servers failed in some way. With eBay having no reported outage, it's most likely some CPU problem on his end or his ISP, issues which disappear when using a service with greater uptime and processing capacity.

I knew to bid high i was set to go $270 not to get overbid... Best was I used my I phone on 3G because I didn't trust my network connection... I haven't tried to contact E bay about an outage but it seems a bit funny that the rarest of the 4 teen titans that the guy was selling went for the lowest I have ever seen an Aqualad sell for. Plus I had just completed 2 successful bids just before this bid for a Crystal wham shell and a boxed Hall of Justice. Just didn't make sense that it was on my end...but it is what it is.

Yeah, but it does suck. I feel your pain in that it happened to me a coup,e of times in '99 or 2000, then I switched to a service. I've never regretted it.

Just go with a reliable sniper service like auctionsniper.com. I realize they charge 1% if your bid wins, but have been using for years and has never failed me in placing a bid. I figure for $1 or so here or there is worth my time in not sitting waiting for an auction to close and I noticed it takes the emotion out of it for me. I bid as high as I care to pay and if I get beat; I get beat. I also like that you can remove the bid before it is placed just in case you change your mind.
