Portia De Rossi as a short-haired Lilly, eddie Izzard as Grampa...Jerry O' Connell as Herman. Note the sewing scars on Herman's neck & wrist. I don't think Butch Patrick is in this show, maybe just a set visit or there for a cameo.

This will be either very good or very bad... no in between.

I think the producers kind of missed the whole point of the Munsters.

I'll watch it once just for curiosity sake, from there we'll see.

I totally trust Bryan Fuller to make an awesome and interesting show that will be cancelled well before it's time.

^Oddly enough, he played the son of a previous Frankenstein monster...Peter Boyle!!!

This is kind of like Smallville. No flights, no frights. BUT...the idea of a plains-clothed Clark Kent exploring his powers and growing into Superman had been established in previous versions. The idea of monsterless Munsters does indeed seem to miss the entire point.

I'd swear that i saw Brad Garrett made up like Herman Munster somewhere. IMDB doesn't list it, maybe it was on Raymond or in his stand-up routine.

    The Munsters Today

    Main article: The Munsters Today

The Munsters Today ran from 1988 to 1991 and lasted for 72 episodes. The unaired pilot episode, written by Lloyd J. Schwartz, explained the 22 year gap through an accident in Grandpa's lab that put the family to sleep. They awake in the late 1980s and have to adapt to their new surroundings. It featured John Schuck (Herman), Lee Meriwether as Lily, Howard Morton (Grandpa) and Jason Marsden (Eddie). Marilyn was portrayed by Mary-Ellen Dunbar in the unaired pilot, and by Hilary Van Dyke thereafter. The show used many props and set pieces from the original series, and also reworked some old storylines. From the second season onwards, the show developed a more modern approach, with colorful new costumes and more contemporary storylines.
