Need Some Insight On A Lot in Hakes Auction.

Hello To All,
I was looking through the items listed in Hakes auction, and I came upon item # 2535.
It is a Hazelle Airplane Controled Robin Marionette from the 1960s. I haven't ever
seen one before and was needing any and all information that any of you could provide, please.

Welcome aboard, wish I could offer assistance on this but it's the first time I've seen it.

Some of the folks from Hake's frequent here, maybe they can give some insight.

Description is: "Original window box contains 16" tall nice quality marionette w/fabric outfit, hard plastic head (w/attached hair), hands and shoes. Attached wood control unit w/ink stamp of "Batman Characters Copyright 1966 National Periodical Publications" text as well as company decal "Hazelle Airplane Control Marionettes." This decal has begun to flake, about 85% remains. Marionette is choice, Exc./NM condition. Box shows obvious wear w/tears and is missing cellophane window. Good. Box stamped "902 Robin" on front and bottom panels. Hazelle also produced a matching Batman marionette. Robin is scarce on its own and rare w/box. This is the first example of the Robin marionette we've offered in our 46 years. We have previously sold a boxed Batman marionette for $1,900." Other than that it was officially licensed during the Batman 60s craze and the company was a major manufacturer of puppets. These sort of items are generally on the rare side because they didn't survive play wear from children very well. Glad to answer any others questions if I can. Thanks.
