I'm not a really follower of this movie series but wonder why are they not introducing Robin considering this might be the last movie ?

Is the character of Robin too UNCOOL for this modern movie series ?

    Any other reasons ?

  4. I think Christopher Nolan has never been a fan of Robin ever thats why he has never introduced the character of Robin and never will. also Christian Bail said in an interview right before The Dark Knight premiered in 2008 that he would walk as Batman if Robin was introduced .I dont think its anything against the character but if your not a fan your not a fan maybe in the Reboot in a couple of years??

Robin doesn't belong in Nolans Batman movies. If anything Nightwing would be a better fit than Robin. A sidekick to Nolans Batman right now would ruin it for me.

    POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD

There is a long-standing rumor that Joseph Gordon Levitt's character, Police Officer "John Blake" is really Dick Grayson, aka Robin/Nightwing.

Now that may be total bunk, but it is a rumor that has legs and has sprouted wings to the point a lot of folks will be disappointed if he ISN'T something other than just a cop character they are focusing on.

    +++++++++++++++++++THEORY THAT COULD BE SPOILER++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Blake could be Damian or a Damian-like character. Anyway, Bruce's son from a long-forgotten relationship, possibly around the Batman begins era. There is supposed to some distance between this film and the last. Enough for Gotham to be cleaned up.

I'm thinking he will be a combo of Damian and Dick, the son of Bruce and Talia. Again, just a Theory.

    Streamlining/simplicity.

As much as I resent that Nolan's Bats doesn't fight alongside Superman or battle Darkseid,
I gotta respect his lasersharp focus of vision.

    Hmmmm....

Since this is reportedly the last Batman film before a reboot, and the new Spiderman film IS a reboot, I've been wondering: have superhero movies picked up one of the afflictions of the comics, namely the endless reboots?

Call them "afflictions"... but this is happening for "media" "franchising" "tentpole properties" "reboots" etc, etc, and on & on....

There are so, so, SO many reasons and layers of complexity on why both film studios and comic publishers are doing reboots...
and MANY of those reasons are unified.... while some aren't.

Call it a "sign of the times" or the latest "law of the jungle" but it ain't 1980 anymore.....
and it ain't as simple as "reboots suck and the people who do them suck".

Knowing YOU Don... I know you know better... but that "affliction" word is kinda polarizing.
When I .... how do you say (?) .... think of my mindframe on this spaceplane, I'm Skywalker with my X-Wing like I was when I was a kid.
