Plaid Stallions The headache that keeps on giving

Behold the Hurdy Gurdy machine for children. Speaking as a father, I can honestly say that other than a megaphone I can't imagine a less neccesary toy for a child to have.

Seriously, I would choose the "beercan helmet", complete with two Pabsts over this thing.

I can honestly say I've never heard of the term "hurdy gurdy" before this.

And yes, when you buy your children a repetitive musical toy, you are essentially purchasing your own torture device.

    Haw!

MY grandma was bedridden for most of her life, and used to do Christmas shopping by catalog. She'd try to find the loudest, most annoying stuff for all the kids.... AND incluse LOTS of batteries. She would have loved these. I can almost hear a houseload of kids, all playing them at the same time....

I wonder how many people "accidentally" broke that toy after a day or so?

I would curse the relative that bought my kid something like that. And I would find a way to make sure it would be mysteriously "lost" after a couple days.

You, Chris, are not my friend.

Of course you must remember that these things came out when parents could actually send kids outside, or even down the block if it got too annoying.

My mother would have destroyed that thing within hours of my playing it, if I had ever had one. She HATED noise.

Pretty strange considering how loud she could yell.
