Have not seen the film yet...but that much is apparent in the trailers. Maguire was just too stocky and short-limbed as Spidey.

Saw it, my 1st 3D. Was it filmed in 3D or changed after shooting? Loved the depth of the 3D. Definetly felt more Spidey than the last bunch. For my review I'll just call it Amazing!

    VERY MINOR SPOILERS

Spider-Man is my all time favorite hero, and this movie had me in tears at the end...it was that good. I love the Raimi films, but this one felt so much more personal, more visceral. The origin being retold didn't bother me at all, because it was such a fresh take on it, and was interwoven into the main plot much more so than in the Raimi film. It didn't seem like like you were watching a repeat at all. The chemistry between Garfield and Stone is electric. You really believe they are in love, and I never got that from Maguire and Dunst. Same with Uncle Ben and Aunt May...they seem so much more like real people here. And of course, there's the Lizard. Rhys Ifans does an incredible job of giving us a sympathetic Curt Connors/Lizard driven to near madness by his reptilian half. Even Flash Thompson is better here, going from bully to friend and ultimately being likable, unlike Raimi's version who was truly unlikable.
The FX were truly outstanding, and Spider-Man never looked better. He uses his spider-powers in really interesting and unique ways, including some brilliant uses of webbing. He just seemes more, well...spidery. I can even believe Peter Parker made his own costume this time around. They actually show him shopping for materials and creating it.
I really loved this film, and have to give it a full 10 out of 10.

Move over Tobey...there's a new Spidey in town.

Saw it today and thought it was great. I thought overall everybody was very true to the characters and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy blew away Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane in the previous films.

Wow lots of positive reviews for the film. I'm hoping to go tomorrow with my son who is dying to see it. For me, I hated all 3 of the Rami Spiderman films and that was enough to put this movie pretty low on my must see summer movie list (and kind of ruin Spiderman for me in general) but after all the great feedback it's getting, I'm pretty psyched for it now!

I do not want to watch the Raimi films ever again after seeing this. I'm sure that will change, but for now that's how I feel.

This movie is everything that I have envisioned an Amazing Spiderman movie to be. It has it's minor flaws (being nitpicky only because I've read every spidey comic ever produced), but overall it was so superior to the other films that they are not even in the same ballpark IMO.

I can't wait to see it again.

After all the moaning about the costume, when Spidey is in action you really don't notice those small details. Over all a surprisingly good flick and any Super hero fan should definitely see it!

Yup, here's another positive review...I LOVED IT! I didn't mind the re-telling of the origin(even though some minor changes were made). I didn't mind that they spent a lot of time establishing who Peter Parker is...because in the comics, they have always focused on Peter's day to day struggles in life, more so than his alter ego Spiderman.
I actually prefer the Spiderman scenes being at night, it lead to great atmosphere and this re-boot being about death, Peter's guilt...it worked well.
So...I highly recommend it and plan on seeing it again in the theater. BEST Spiderman movie yet!

Overall I really liked it and can't wait to see what they will do with the next one.

It was great to see the Lizard in action. Of course there were some parts where I could nitpick, but not enough to down the movie completely.

    I love the sewer scenes!
