I have to say, last night was the worst plain old thunder storm I can ever remember. There was so much lightning it almost seemed like day time. We have been without power since about midnight. Thank God I bought that generater and had it hard wired into the house. I have been running my whole house on that baby so I still have it all, AC, PC, TV.

It hit central Ohio, too. The Gov declared state of emergency; I think we had 600K without power at one point. I lost it from 5:30 last night to noon today, which wasn't too awful all things considered. We'd been told possibly 5-6 days. We lost a little food - mostly ice cream & similar.
On the plus side, we went out last night looking for dinner and tried a local Chinese place we'd never been to. It was just before closing time so we were able to get an order in (most other places that had power had crazy lines). Good food; nice people: we'll go back. Now I just need a good recipe for bay scallops (which thawed in the freezer).

I lost Power for 5 Days During an Ice Storm in Jan, and couldn't go anywhere.

Last weeks thunders storms though were a doosey up here...lightning strikes alomst every minute for an hour straight...hit my neighbors house 3 times in that hour. I kept thinking to myself I must have done something REALLY good to have been spared like that
I try to use blackouts as an opportunity to get some sleep or somethin'-somthin'...which leads to some more sleep
