I'm a sucker. I bought em on VHS, the legacies sets and yeah I want these on blu-ray, just to see if there is much difference. I got rid of all of my VHS tapes except for the Uni monsters for some reason.
I have my concerns with this wording "All films will be "digitally restored from high resolution film elements " because Dracula's print is a mess and needs serious archival restoration. A full restoration of Dracula is long overdue. If it's just the previous DVD transfer digitally "enhanced" (like uping the contrast and boosting the bass of the the audio) I'm going to pass this time. But if Dracula actually truly gets restored, I'll be the first in line for this set.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
I have my reservations about films that are 80 years old getting the BR treatment. I'm perfectly happy with the Legacy sets on DVD, and I don't think the visual emhancement will be that mindblowingly different than the DVDs. They still have to work with 80 year old source material.
I'm glad they're getting the treatment they deserve, but I'll stick to my DVDs.

I can't wait!!! Love all the Universal product and have these movies in every format known to man. Blu ray will be my next! Compared to how I watched them on television back in the early 70's, all enhancements have been worthwhile purchases. Even if it's just a format enhancement, that will make the resolution that much better, so I will be pleased. Universal fans tend to be a tough lot too, so I'm confident the studio will make these copies worth having.
I've been holding off, but I have to admit that if hear that the 3D Creature film looks good, it might be the film that finally gets me to consider buying a 3D TV...
