Fleischer did a lot of rotoscoping of their human characters so that's interesting. Never heard of the fella, looks like he was a bodybuilder champeen of some sort. Mr. Miami Beach?
Been awhile since I watched the Fleischer Supermans. Might have to dig them out.
He had the right build. Great picture, first time seeing it.
Animation was taken very seriously back then.

ChrisWhile the Fleischer Superman would obviously be based on the character drawn by Joe Shuster as seen in "Action Comics" and "Superman" comic books, they employed a technique known as "Rotoscoping" in which real-life figures were traced in ink, frame by frame, making the animated figures more believable.
Whether he was used in this fashion or not is unknown, but professional wrestler Karol Krauser was used as the male model by the Fleischers to aid in their portrayal of Superman for the animated shorts.

Yeah, I remember that guy his story was almost universally deemed bunk.
The Kaiser thing may turn out to be the same, who knows.

That guy certainly has the build of Fleischer/Shuster Superman. The drawing with his his head on the drawn body looks a lot like the cover to Superman No. 6. I had an old beat-up copy of it once upon a time. Love the art deco look of those toons. The older I get the more I appreciate them as well as George Reeves' portayal and Wayne Borings' art style on Superman.
Cool story if true he does have the right build for the Golden age Superman......
