Thread: anyone try dyeing a white doc muscle body?

anyone try dyeing a white doc muscle body?

I read about dyeing the flesh colored bodies but I'm curious if the white color affects the dye.
I'm going for etrigan yellow on the legs and hands.

The arms and legs dye fine, C.H.O.A.M., the body, you'll have to paint.
I would disassemble the body also, so there arent any white spots between joints.
The pins in the elbows, knees, wrists, and ankles, wont dye either, so you'll have to touch them up with paint

    thanks.
I'm afraid if I take the body apart I won't get it back together!
although I used to fix the old vintage ones with rubber bands

It's best to take Docs bodies apart because the PVC arms and legs will soften when it goes in the hot, boiling dye.
If it's still strung together, the tension of the rubber bands will pull the metal hooks through the softened plastic holes in the arms, and tear them.
If it's any consolation, there are hundreds of guys here at the Museum that can help talk you through restringing.
They're good guys, and they're glad to help.

"juanimal" on ebay had a head for around $12, shipping included. While the head looks pretty good in the photos, it's not shown on a body to get concept of scale. More over, his photo seem to me to be the original sculpt and not of the castings he is selling. Stranger still, his ebay auctions stopped all at once. My best suggestion is to go with anybody, who knows more than me.
