I rented the Blu-ray Ghost Rider 2 today on Redbox...and I liked it waaaaaaay better than the first one.

For on thing, it's much darker in tone.

Johnny Blaze no longer eats silly jelly beans...now he hits the booze, lol.

He still drinks a lot of water though...I guess he gets dehydrated as the Ghost Rider, lol.

I dig the look of this Ghost Rider a LOT more...his skull is a tad bigger and has a brown decay look to it (in the first movie, the skull was too clean white, and even though it was anatomically the right size, it looked funny on the Rider's body)...his leather jacket is now more worn down and bubbling with a nice melting effect...and I especially dig the new bike, it's now just and old school beat up badarse ride...not the pretty American Chopper of the first flick, lol.

I dug it...and as awlays, Nick Cage does his over the top acting, which is fine by me...

Action #775 is one of my favorite Superman stories, so I'm sure I'll be getting that Blu-ray eventually... maybe even the special Best Buy edition with the figure.

This is the Only 1 I've watched so far ...
and I agree with all your points. I think it was a Pretty good film, and I to liked it better than the 1st. I liked the Bike so much more too, I was never a real big fan of the "Hollywood" Bike. The Melting affect on his Jacket and pants was Brilliant imo ..., I do mis the Spikes on the Jacket though .

The Devil was Boring though ...
I also Missed Peter Fonda as Satan. I liked that most about the 1st Film.
... I'm The Dude, Playing the Dude,.. Disguised as Another Dude.

My favorite part was him urinating fire. Someone should have told Cage that they're shots for that. The movie was as good as any Ghost Rider comic I've ever read.

Agreed on both Fonda as Satan...and yes...the new devil was a snore fest, lol.

But overall...yes again...the second is the better Ghost Rider flick...

Okay, this movie must be widely open to interpretation. I'm either hearing it's better than the first, or it's the worst movie ever made.

Sounds like a renter to me.

Watched Superman vs. the Elite last night and the adaption of the comic was excellent. I'm not a great fan of the style of animation used in it. Would have preferred something more based on Timm's style or some of the other style's used previously, but the action and story were excellent.

Manchester Black is an excellent villain for Superman. He's kind of in that Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman territory.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Hank Henshaw story with it's one-off of the Fantastic Four adapted as a cartoon. They would really have to write around the Death of Superman thing to make him the Cyborg Superman.

Dark Knight Returns Part I is going to be interesting when it hits this fall.

I saw GR2 and thought it was okay but ultimately lacking. I miss the old cycle from the first film and thought the character was more monster than hero. Plus I don't think calling it a reboot really fits. It seem to have too much connection with the first film to be viewed as a redo. But above all that, I didn't feel invested with ANY of the characters. The dialogue was weak and the characters were cardboard thin. That and Nicholas Cage just looks too d*mn old to be playing a hero. Heroes should inspire. And all Cage did is make me sleepy. His performance was pretty flat.
It's not how hard you hit, but how hard you can be hit and still move forward.
