    My favorite instrumental ever.

Eric Johnson. Just kick back, close your eyes and turn it up. Let me know.

Eric Johnson is so amazing that he can get away with the puffy sleeves and ruffles. There really are few in his league. I love Satriani too but Eric's melodies are to me much more 'pretty' and I mean that in the most kick arse way.

That was darn good, but my favorite is Jeff Beck's rendition of "A Day in The Life". I can listen to this all day. I used to have an argument with a friend back in the 80's about who was the better guitar player Jeff Beck or Eddie Van Halen. I called him recently and conceded.

    Jeff Beck

i love me some Eric Johnson. The whole Ah Via Musicom album is astounding. Love Satch, too. Of the G3 guys, Vai is my favorite, though.

Having said all of that, I don't think is a finer guitarist on the planet than Jeff Beck.
This one starts as an instrumental til Jeff gets a surprise guest.

It's cool you posted that. Mine's probably "12 to 12 Vibe" from that same DVD (it's called "Intro Song" there, for some reason). BTW, the first time I saw him play "Cliffs of Dover" on The Tonight Show, it blew me away. I was kind of innocent about delays and echo pedals, and it was eye-opening.

Good man! I had to laugh when I read that as I had similar arguments myself back then. Beck has always been underrated. He is in my top five along with Frank Zappa who was also a very underrated guitar virtuoso.

It was great to see Jeff play with Mick on SNL recently.

Beck is awesome, so is Stevie ray and Eddie, but for Johnson, who is Awesome and not as highly regarded in general circles, made a masterpiece with this piece.
