I noted the lack of BOTP toys as a child back in '78-'79. I expected to see Star Wars-like presence on the toy shelves and was sorely disappointed. I recall seeing the Gold Key comics and those cheap Gordy rack toys (gun and the radio set) but my parents never bought them for me, sadly.

The only vintage, licensed BOTP merchandise I owned were kids bedroom slippers! My parents caved and bought them at Kmart because they were functional and not just toys. I actually have a vintage photo of me wearing them as proof ;-)

Except for colouring books. I remember lots of colouring and activity books when I was a kid.

I loved BOTP as well, and remember the activity books too. The one thing I remember holding in my hands in a K-Mart that I dearly wanted but couldn't talk my parents into getting me was the Entex Phoenix G-5 model kit.

I still watch for one from time to time on ebay....

"UniFive" - You can see it on the package. The company was actually a limited-life sub-division of Bandai, catering to retro toy interests. (They made a beautiful, massive diecast GodPhoenix, of which I am a very happy owner.) This is a boxed set of gashapon-style figures.
