“The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.” ― Charles Bukowski
Does this mean he's still going to be powerless against "wood"?

Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
WGAF...
Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!
DC has taken so many missteps with this rebooted universe....this is not the first, and it surely won't be the last...

*sigh* 'Course, we were all THINKIN' it....
I think this is the best summation of the whole thing:
BREAKING: DC ANNOUNCES FIFTH MOST IMPORTANT GREEN LANTERN ON PARALLEL UNIVERSE IS GAY - Topless Robot
I agree with the cop out thing. DC ALWAYS does this. They want the controversy, they want to seem progressive and vital, they want to stir the pot.... but with as much plausible deniability as they can attach.
Don C.
Wish they'd come up with a new hero, and leave the old classics ALONE.
But, it's ALL marketing. "If they don't kill 'em, they'll bring 'em back for the other team", to use the lingo of Jerry Seinfeld.
Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.
Not impressed.

It's probably been done with less hope for market share before... but there is certainly history with comics and Civil Rights issues of the day. Besides the coded messages in some pieces like early X-Men, and even the more broadly painted storylines like Speedy's drug habit, etc, there are examples like ::this::
Personally I thought that the X-Men first class flick had a major waste of potential in being 1960's era but choosing to sidestep the entire cultural reality. Darwin was written in the tired Hollywood mold of sacrificial other for the sake of the noble class, which spans generation of film - if he'd been done instead in the young James Baldwin style, not only would his mutant skill be a fantastic allegory but it would have opened some really interesting character dynamics.
This smacks a bit of "look - we can be hip!"
Looking for Tong body style LHT/Australian release Ninjas of any color, and here's :::My Expansive Wants List::: WARNING: I am medical malady boy, and have recently proven to be chronic iffy-to-negligible-trader-response-guy. Like After School Special worthy. This is my self-imposed Scarlet Letter.
This is too bad they've chosen a classic character to reboot and then change his past to gay.
I AM VERY HOPEFUL THIS WILL NOT LAST ANYMORE.
DC HAS BECOME A JOKE of it's former self.
Invent a new gay character. Don't **** with the classics.
Sorry if that was too much. I'm angry.
