Took the words right out of my mouth. What they're really hoping for is that this will be the big March movie like Hunger Games, 300, Alice In Wonderland, Watchmen... What it really shows is that this cannot compete with Batman, Spiderman, Avengers or pretty much anything else coming out this summer and they have no confidence in it at all.

This looked miles better than the first film, and I was actually looking forward to it. It's one thing for a movie in early stages of production like Man of Steel to get pushed back (Dec 2012 to June 2013), but one that's in the can, with product on shelves does indeed send a bad sign.

Is 3D REALLY going over that well, or has theaters just invested too much in equipment for it to just quietly die out?

The financial failure of Battleship scared them. Battleship is a completely different animal than Gijoe. They overspent and demanded too much return from a film like Battleship. This may be the last nail in the coffin for the toyline also since a lot of retail stores may have a product with no movie support on their shelves. This is after they were burned with ROC.

The real problem with these movies is that while they're based off of cartoons, they're nothing really like the cartoons we remember. Transformers was all about Robots and yet when it got to the theaters somehow, Megan Fox and Shia Labeouf are the stars. The first GI Joe film was nothing more than a set up film for a sequel no one really cares about. The only film that ever did this successfully was the first Nolan Batman. Batman Begins got a way with this "set-up" formula because despite not having a major bad guy, it had a great script, great acting, and a great director. GI Joe had none of that. GI joe needed to be the cartoon on the big screen not "lets add a wise cracking Wayne's brother for comic relief." Masters Of The Universe came out twenty something years ago and was a movie that was based off a cartoon that was nothing like the cartoon and a huge flop and were still getting terrible films like this. I don't expect every cartoon turned into a movie to get the Lord of The Rings treatment but they should at least put someone at the helm that actually cares about the series enough to make it faithful to the fanbase in the first place. GI Joe didn't even use the iconic theme song in the 1st film (the guitar riff not the narration) Now they're saying they want to push it back and make it in 3d. Seems to me they should have thought of this when they were making the film. It is after all a huge budget Hollywood movie. Now were gonna get an 18 month old movie when this comes out next year. There's also a pretty good saying that applies here, "If it ain't good, it's in 3D" The last movie I went to see that got a delay like this was a garbage Bill Murray film called City of Ember and if you saw that POS, you probably know what to expect.

One other thing...someone missed a golden opportunity at an awesome headline here...
No Joe: Studio Pushes New Gi Joe Film to 2013...that's gold right there. GOLD!

That takes care of GI Joe in the movies. I was looking forward to see if this movie would hopefully be better than the first. But now this is just going to give the movie a big black eye and a lot of hate from many people. RIP GI Joe!

Can't imagine Hasbro is too happy about this. The toys have already been shipped to stores.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Guess the triple threat of superhero films this summer was too much for the studio.
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday.
