Thread: Remote server timeouts?

    Remote server timeouts?

I don't think I'm the only one, but I cannot access the museum through my mobile. I'm pretty sure Meule is still not able to log in either. Is there a setting or adjustment that can be made either on the Museum's end or mine that can solve this? I can access everything except here.
Last week The National Native American Museum celebrated its 25th anniversary. It was then relocated to Oklahoma to make room for the new Christopher Columbus Museum.

We're well aware and even Scott, creator of the site can't log in. I'll get more into it soon but it seems we were targeted for what is known as a DOS attack.

We've got a list of offending ISPs and we'll know more soon.

I've been trying to just access the site since around 5:00 pm yesterday on my handheld and can't. I have been in contact with Steve, so he knows.
I haven't tried this morning, I'm on my laptop.

It wasn't just the forums, either--I couldn't access the galleries, even. I thought you guys were just down for maintenance. What I don't get is why someone would go after a site like this--isn't it usually "haxX0rz" going after banks or Scientology's website or the like, trying to make a statement? Not sure about Canada, but in the UK and the USA, a person can go to prison for doing this kind of thing. Stupid.

You hate to think things like this, but it could be the work of a banned member. If this is something malicious and not a random occurrance, then that's the conclusion I'd draw. Do we have an archnemesis?

Yes, it is the entire site that is unaccessible.
Usually a message comes thru if it's an upgrade on the site.
