It's killing me not to order that cane. I am a bigger DS dork than I care to mention publicly.

You can get the cheapo plastic version
Dark Shadows Barnabas Collins Cane - Elope - Dark Shadows - Prop Replicas at Entertainment Earth

Plus wig and fangs to complete your costume in time for Fan Expo, or the Burlington Toy Show if you want to hang out with chubby Tom Baker or rolly suitcase Bruce Lee. (I'm don't know why I'm finding it so funny the demand is such that they appear to be sold out of Barnabas wigs.)
Dark Shadows Barnabas Collins Deluxe Adult Wig - Elope - Dark Shadows - Costumes at Entertainment Earth
Dark Shadows Barnabas Collins Fangs - Elope - Dark Shadows - Costumes at Entertainment Earth
Dark Shadows Barnabas Collins Deluxe Inverness Cape - Elope - Dark Shadows - Costumes at Entertainment Earth

Wondering what the handle is made of? Chromed steel or chromed plastic over wood?

I have the original version (#117) which is/was hand crafted by a gentleman in Germany (if I remember right) and distributed over here in the US by Harvy Medical in NY. I ordered it in '94 and everyone I knew at the time thought I was nuts for laying down $100 bucks and some change for a "stupid" cane. I rationalized it as an investment in my retirement.

I keep it in its original shipping box because the darned thing tarnishes way too frequently to keep it out on display. Would be great to have the replica on display and keep my original safely stored for another 15 years or so until I'm ready to actually use it.
