    I second that!!

I had many Mego POTA then now 4 CIPSA Apes:

    Urko
    Bill
    Soldado Ursus
    Dr.Zaius

And Maroon Cuffed General Ursus, Silver Soldier, T-1 Cornelius and Zira with brown vinyl details. Coming soon: repro CIPSA Cornelius with Mego body, head and CIPSA boots with repro shirt by me.

Then I'm still looking for Cipsa Cornelius to complete my CIPSA Ape figures line, repro boxes and Treehouse by our member megoapesnut.

The CIPSA and Astro Apes are the top rarest and very expensive figures and CIPSA toys!

Also, Top rarest Mego Apes are T-2 Maroon Cuffed General Ursus/Soldier and T-1 Silver Soldier with it's original gloves.

I remember lusting very strongly for a Cornelius and Dr. Zaius when I was a kid. Almost as much as I lusted for Iron Man and The Thing. I'm not sure why my mom would never get them for me, as I had multiple Batmans, Spider-Mans and Aquamans throughout the years. Anyway, I bought the EMCE repros and love them. Originals would be nice, but I'm cool with these.
WH--? Where in blazes are we, Wall Crawler?

Ooohhh. I know where this is going....

No better place to start than window boxed apes!!! Those are hard to get. You are already sucked in, Clem!

The Astros and knockoffs look completely different. Not even close to the Megos and CIPSAs

It is interesting for me that since I never collected any apes as a kid, I have been able to keep myself in check on the adult collection. I do love to look at the stuff people post, though. Especially the Cispa box art!

I think that is what fuels everyone's passion for collecting, which can be summed up in one word - nostalgia. I collect the figures that bring back fond childhood memories. I never was into comics, so my exposure to WGSH during childhood were from the Batman TV series, the Saturday morning cartoons (Batman, Robin, Superman, Aquaman), the 60's Spiderman cartoon series and the 70's Spiderman live action series. Therefore, I collect Batman, Robin, Superman, Aquaman and Spiderman. I have zero interest in any others and wonder what all the fascination is with Thor, Captain America, Green Arrow, Teen Titans, etc. I wouldn't pay a dime for a minty figure of any of those guys cause they have no correlation to my childhood memories. My best memories are watching the POTA series (I actually saw those long before I got to see the movies) and getting my Mego POTA figures and treehouse, thus fueling my passion for collecting Apes.

I only owned a couple of Megos as a kid. A 8" Superman and Robin is as much as I remember. But my passion has ballooned to all things Mego and to me, it is the fun of owning some of the Megos that you could only have dreamed of owning as a kid while drooling at the ads in the funny books.
