    Mego and the Avengers

I'd always wished that Mego had brought out more of these guys. I'm talking the Vision, Black Panther, Hawkeye and the Scarlet Witch and others.
Thor, Cap, Iron Man have always been the essence of the team but the Hulk apart from being a founder member was never really in the Avengers from the 1960s to the 1970s. I think this Avengers movie has changed that perception, so now we have 4 Mego Avenger dolls instead of 3

I would have LOVED a Mego Vison, Scarlet Witch, Yellowjacket, etc. back in the day.

I do have a couple custom Avengers now, but I've always felt that Vizh just didn't translate as well. His yellow shorts to yellow midsection part ends up looking a little like diapers.

I came close to picking up one of Brian Leitner's excellent Hawkeye customs, but I didn't have the money at the time.

I know folks don't dig on famous covers, but the fact that you had characters like vision, scarlet witch, Hawkeye, black widow etc, was what brought me back to Megos.

I don't understand why Marvel won't make RE-MEGO Avengers figures.
The Avengers are all over everything.
My kids just got their Lego activity books this month showing that there will be Lego mini-figures of the Avengers.
    Why not 8" Megos???
Collectible versions through comics shops and online would be great.

I always wanted a Hank Pym Mego in all his in carnations. I had a Fascination with the character especially his Ant-man Helmet.

I was also a HUGE Vision fan in the 70's I bought Avengers comics just for him. like Ed said even though many people are not Fans of the Toybiz figures, I could not pass up when they made Vision....and Toy Biz did make most of the Avengers.

Plus, if you're really creative and skillful you can break a lot of these down to 8 inches to fit your Mego collection. It's not hard to do. I have bought a set of them off eBay and have done that. Some were hard (like Electro) but it requires taking the suits apart and refitting them and resewing them back up and replacing their bodies, boots, capes and gloves with Dr. Mego stuff. Don't buy anything other Dr. Mego stuff when doing this. Trust me, using cheap stuff off CTVT's you'll run into a lot of problems. Just take my word from experience.

For their heads, I bought a bunch of hack heads off CTVTs and carefully cut the stems off of them and glued them under the Famous Cover's heads and when they dried they popped on a Mego 8 inch body and they look a lot more perfect fit then on their Famous Covers originals.
