We haven't forgotten our love for the 8 inch world. The last few years have been tough trying to keep the lights on at Castaway toys and the problems we've had with the factory have burnt us out. Quite frankly it stopped being fun along time ago. The reason we started the company was for our love of toys and to have an outlet for all these creative ideas that are always floating around in our heads. We've always wanted to create toys in different mediums and have had a real interest in the art toy scene for a while. Dave and I will be doing some projects independently, doing projects together, and collaborating with some other folks in the coming year. What you've seen on Dave’s blog is a character he created and sculpted which I think looks really cool and is a lot of fun. I have some stuff I'm working on and we have a really cool project we're working on together. We're still selling 8 inch stuff and shipping out orders and I'm sure we'll revisit the 8 inch stuff again soon. We appreciate all the support and patience you've all given us and we hope you will continue to be interested in our new projects.

Jason Summed it nicely... we are creative dudes and we are always gonna make stuff... this is my littel side venture, along with 2 inch Keshi miniatures... it's nice to have a creative outlet.

Here is the final product on Shouju (Japanese for Swamp Beast)

My latest venture is AmeriKaiju: Japanese inspired monsters Handmade in the U.S.A.

These are made of soft urithane rubber (super similar to keshi).

            the mold pulls

            Size: 3.5"/8cm
            Material: Soft urethane rubber
Articulation: 3 points- Shoulders and neck

Thanks for looking! and I should be updating the blog soon.

Thanks Chris (and all), being a weird creative guy, this stuff comes out in wierd ways sometimes... Besides the AmeriKaiju figures I have been working on 2 inch Keshi figures... you can see all my stuff on my Flickr stream

Again, like Jason said it was a kick in the teeth to lose all of our molds and we are up in the air right now as to the future, but we are always making toys of some sort
