Although Hoss's does lack a wine selection, they do offer Grey Poupon which includes white wine as an ingredient.

Hoss's is booked for us. Between now and 6/7 if a more popular choice for the Thursday birds emerges I don't think it's a big deal to make a shift. Otherwise we'll go with Hoss's for both meals for this year, with an eye on scouting for another venue for next year for one day or the other.

We could always go to Wendy's. It's not like they wouldn't just shoot themselves if like 25 people walked in all at the same time. Their heads would probably explode.

Just a thought for next year, we ate a Ye Old Alpha last year and were pretty happy. They seemed as if they could handle a large group, but you'd have to confirm.

                Hey Scott,

                Here's that Fettucine Alfredo recipe

                1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup freshly grate Parmesan cheese
                dash of freshly grated nutmeg
                3 Tsb. butter
dash of fresh coarsely ground pepper
1 lb of fettucine (wide egg noodles)

Choose a pan that can hold all the cooked fettucine and the sauce. Put 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream and the butter in the pan and simmer until the butter is melted. Turn off heat. Cook fettucine in boiling water, being very careful not to overcook. the noodles should be very firm as they will cook again when the sauce is added. Drain the noodles and transfer to the pan containing the cream and butter mix. Turn on low heat. Add remainder of cream and all the cheese, pepper and nutmeg. Serve with additional cheese on the side.

I generally will throw in some chopped up chicken or even shrimp. But it's also great with steak instead of a potato.

I also think the dish is better on the second day, as the sauce really gets into the noodles. To warm on the second day, you can splash a little more cream or milk into it so it doesn't scorch if you heat it on the stove.

This recipe will fee 4 or more.

You can count me, Collette and the kids in the Hoss' dinner. Undo's was a drag last year. I think they only serve food to keep people waiting so they can buy more booze while they wait to eat.

I suspect this is actually a trap being set for me for daring to argue with "The Shogun of Harlem" about comics. I see thru your clever plan you hoser!

Any thoughts on the buffet at Wheeling Island? Its really good food, great variety and only 10 minutes or so away.

Jim, I wanted to move to your backyard when I heard you installed a pool w/BBQ. I never suspected it was a trap. : )

Oglebay Resort has some nice features too. Maybe worth exploring. It's a short drive and in a country setting if you're into that sort of thing. OG at Highlands was mentioned about 5 minutes E on I70. Also, St. Clairsville Ohio, has a Strip Mall with common franchises like Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Buffalo Wild Wings and the such. Just about 10 minutes west on I70 (or you can follow I470W).

Or Hoss's of course. You can walk there. What more could one ask?
