Organizing Mego-scale clothes- Help!

Over the years, I've acquired a sizable Mego-scale wardrobe of clothes for my custom figures. I have them in plastic zip bags in a few plastic storage boxes. But when I try to find something....I do a lot of searching! I was just thinking "there's got to be a better way"

For fellow collectors with a lot of Mego clothes....how do you store your Mego clothes in a way that is organized?

Are there Barbie(she must have a lot of clothes) products that address this problem?

A lot of the GI Joe collectors bag and board outfits and file them in a box like you would comics.

How about ZipLoc bags with write on labels?

That way, you can organize them by type.

For example:

One could be for bodysuits with matching boots, capes, etc.

Another is for casual wear like t-shirts, jeans, sneakers, hoodies.

To keep shoes paired up, you can tape them to a small piece of cardboard or backing board, and put them in the teeny zip bags.

Bag #1: Bodysuits, boots, capes, gloves.

Bag #2: Jeans, sneakers, hoodies, t-shirts.

Bag #3: Jackets, pants, dress shirts.

Bag #4: Weapons: Swords, daggers, bows.

Bag #5: Misc. heads, helmets, hats.

Bag #6: Misc. parts; i.e. hands, feet, arms, legs, torsos.

Put them all together in a suitable, see through container, and put a master list (laminated) on the lid.

I use the cheap ziplock baggies from the dollar stores. Family Dollar has the best deal in my area. They're similar to a Dollar General if you're not familiar with them. I stick a small post it sized label inside with it stating what it's from. I started this after buying a substantial sized AJ collection years back. You can stand two rows in a large Priority Mail box from your local PO, which are free, and make storing large amounts easy. Take some priority labels when you get the boxes and use them for easy ID on what's in each box. ie: Barbie, Action Jackson, WGSH, etc.

This is a subject that has been troubling me for a while. A while ago. I bought several plastic type 3 drawer stackable mini storage containers. I filled 2 of them, one female the other male. They are filled to over flowing with Mego scale clothing. I went, Top drawer shirts, Second drawer Pants/ skirts/shorts and bottom shelf for more completed outfits (ie, Bodysuits jumpers, dresses and such) I had to fill a third mini chest of drawers with Original Mego & CTVT bodysuits, Gloves, belts, hats other headgear and misc. garments armours and such.
I also started a forth for clothing compatible with Mego fat bodies.
As of late. I've been heavily considering gathering more completed outfits in baggies as stated here. I have the baggies. No prob there but, What would be a good, cheap source for the backing boards!!!
This is a key factor!!! With backing boards, you can store outfits on edge. Just like comics. This saves major space in storage and you can leaf through them more easily while being able to ID outfits quickly!

i use stacking clear boxes, over full.
ziplock bags , laying around.
for custom in progress i used ziplock bags with names written on them and only items needed for each custom in those. clipped them to a hanger and hung them up.

Spent my Saturday afternoon, evening and early Sunday morning organizing my Mego clothing. I divided everything into two plastic storage containers- one male and one female. Put everything in small labeled plastic bags, no backing- by categories as was suggested. Both containers are packed full! But at least it's much easier to find clothing and accesories now. Will need at least two more containers soon!

Here is 2 of my Mego footwear storage units. These help organize matching and similar types of footwear. Makes it easier to sort through and find a type and color your looking for.

As in foto. you can see I have and use CTVT boots/shoes Classic Mego Barbie and other fashion doll type boots and shoes. And yes! There is alotta pink in there!
