I thought about that because they are teaming with up with EMCE to make this line and I was hoping not to see another Pike figure with the painted face. I know Pike is an exception, but I was hoping it would remain the ONLY exception.

It's two different things. BBP has teamed with EMCE for all their releases and they use EMCE's tooling. The Star Trek line is EMCE and Diamond and Diamond uses their own factory.

Pike is rotocast too, it just has been painted for whatever reason.

Perhaps I'm misspoken then in what I was asking. Is the head going to be made of rubber? In other words, will it be made out of the same material as the Mego heads, Retros, etc? Excuse my ignorance on the material question.

While I know the wait can be frustrating, I think the BBP guys have been great about sharing tasty little nuggets with us.

It is an unfortunate reality that in order to get the word out about their products to the most people, they need to save the big reveals for major conventions and such. Let's be honest... most of the target demo here was sold the minute they heard "Mego 6MDM."

Then again, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and we'll get a sneak peak out of Mego Meet.

Pikes head is the same material as the other figures. It's just painted.

Given that all the rest of BBPs heads haven't had painted skin, I doubt the Austin head will.

Hi Everyone! We are here, just really focusing in on production and Comic-Con. We are not a big company. There are just 4 people working full time managing 200+ products in the pipeline. We're not ignoring you. To answer, yes, our heads are rotocast and skin is not painted. While we know about Mego Meet and many other shows, we are not attending, as we only attend two shows during the year - Toy Fair and San Diego Comic-Con. We love your enthusiasm and your support, and hope you'll enjoy our upcoming SMDM and BSG product line debut, celebrity tie-ins at Comic-Con, and some surprises!

Thanks guys. Excuse my momentary nerd frustration. I have all of your SMDM product on pre-order. Some in multiples. I just haven't been this excited over a license since I was a kid. I wish you guys LOADS of success! I hope it can grow from there. A Jamie Sommers figure. Perhaps even a Venus Space Probe model or accessory? Oh the possibilities are limitless. Lets support this line everyone!

You will see a carded / final Steve Austin at Comic-Con. Shipments of Steve should start in August.
