I don't have time to do a photo comparison, but the head sculpt looks pretty accurate to me. The 3/4 view especially. It's not as cartooney as the Kenner head you remember, which is also a bonus, IMHO.

Agreed, I much prefer it to be more realistic than our childhood Steve. And thank you for not punching a hole through his eye. I always hated that!

I'm still uber-excited for this line. However, if I hadn't been told, I'm not sure I would have pegged that for Lee Majors.

Funny, because I was just thinking if you showed me the head sculpt without any context I would recognize it as Lee Majors right away.

Funny! When I first saw this over at AFI, I thought it was dead on for Lee Majors. I come over here and over half of the comments see Indy instead. I just don't see Indy at all. But I'm sure someone here will make a great Indy custom out of him down the road. Maybe then I'll see it.

We are very proud of this head sculpt. We recognized Lee Majors the first time we saw this, and it was promptly approved by Universal. No eye hole was the plan all along. We can't please everyone, but we must please the folks that own the property first.

I think it looks like Majors as well.
I do remember that distinctive left eyebrow **** that was trademark 'Steve Austin', as far as I was concerned.
Do remember the Kenner Steve Austin toy having that, but I think that was because they needed the eyehole slightly enlarged so you could see out of it, which caused the sculpt to push the eyebrow up abit.
Still, I really do like this sculpt as is.

I really like the skulpt and I'm really looking forward to the line. You will get nothing but encouragment from me on this!

I still wish for the hairy chest drawn on though. Lee Majors could have played the SMDM and Bigfoot. LOL
