This is the reason I CAN'T STAND FOX:
Renewed for Fifth and Final Season - Hollywood Reporter
The MOST INCOMPETENT network I've ever known. WB isn't even this bad. Just a bunch of F'N morons at Fox. Some of the best Sci-Fi stuff has been KILLED on Fox. They'd rather have UTTER GARBAGE like Idol on their station then great shows like Fringe. IDIOTS!

Have never seen Fringe but I heard good things about it.
Those who look outside dream. Those who look within awake.
Samples of my work are found here: Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness
To do list:
1:6 boots for Mathilda, 1:1 Romulan Commander outfit, Ursus helmet; Cornelius appliance
1:9 scale ape's new suit for Cornelius;
I think this is great news.
The Fringe producers were begging for this in press statements last month, if they could get more episodes, they would wrap up the series in a spectacular way.
Now they have an opportunity to shut her down in a grand way. I prefer that to additional seasons where the show loses it's flavour.

Kind of hoping we see Mark Valley come back for some of the finale since human target was cancelled. They obviously had plans for him from the first season they weren't able to follow through with (I still don't know how he fit in with The Other Side).
I was ecstatic with the news that it was coming back for one more year!
And gotta say... hard to claim Fox is "killing" a show when they give it 5 seasons and over 100 episodes. That seems like a pretty good run.
Not killing them for ending Fringe after 5 season...all I am saying is that think of the sci-fi shows that the network has killed over the years. The only 2 that have had long runs are Fringe and X-Files...That's it. Sci-Fi shows that they have killed before getting off of the ground:
Alien Nation (1989–90)
Dark Angel (2000–02)
Firefly (2002–03)
Harsh Realm (1999–2000)
Millennium (1996–99)
Sliders (1995–98)
Space: Above and Beyond (1995–96)
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008–09)
Terra Nova (2011)
Action Shows:
Human Target (2010–11)
John Doe (2002–03)
Check out how many shows Fox has tried over the years:

You figure at least one of those shows would last more than 3 seasons. The network is just pathetic. They want to make the quick easy money with reality garbage.
I do think that the only good thing is that they are giving them 13 episodes to get it done the right way. Hopefully they won't disappoint.

I agree...even though I don't watch Fringe...it's best to end on a high note.
2 shows I watched and glad they were given the opportunity to end properly were Dollhouse and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (though I wish they had continued).
I wish that had been the case with Dark Angel cause that last season was horrible...but...
Then you have Firefly...and the What If's start to fly...
At least Fringe is given the time to wrap it up on their terms.

I've just caught up on it and like it quite a bit. Very glad fox is giving it one more season and that they know it, hopefully it will be quite a wrap up.
i am glad they are giving it the final season to wrap things up. now the producers and writers know how much time they have and can hopefully do it right.
.
Blue meanie, only a handful of those shows listed were really good enough to have continued.
Sliders actually had 5 seasons as I recall and that show really suffered from the loss of it's main star. they had already gotten rid of or lost most of the original cast by that point too. not defending Fox but just saying not all those shows were all that great
