I mean it was like they were daring you not to rent it at your own peril... What?! And miss out on the four breasted girl?!
And I would pretty much watch any movie with a Boris Vallejo box cover. They actually sometimes delivered the goods.

I think that has a lot to do with the more so recent collecting point of it. The film and tape can be god awful, but give some really good box art and you have gold. I am a mix of both. Some tapes for the type of film or it's infamy, some for memories, some because I actually liked the film, some for no other media release other then the tape and others for box art galore and some for all the reasons already listed

Mmmmm.....
Cheesy, exploitive VHS boxes....:
MONSTER BRAINS: Hideous Rampage Of The Grotesque VHS Box Art!!!
He's got a LOT of 'em on the site, including more than a few for movies I don't think I've seen.
Don C.
I used to like going to the video store to look for Ninja/Martial Arts and other action movies. At that time, the WWF also released many VHS videos that I loved. I remember getting Eddie Murphy's Delirious, as well.

Rampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?
Thanks Don and in turn he actually got them from here (which he gives the link to at the very bottom):

ahhh I used to love renting those old WWF tapes. Though a lot of the matches used to be slightly edited down or over dubbed with new commentary

VHS rental stores, yes. They were especially thrilling back in the day when my family had to rent the VCR too! I sort of lost interest when DVD rentals started costing 5 dollars to rent and Hollywood simultaneously went down the tubes. I must admit I do miss the smell.
AHHHHH I had no idea!!! Someone updated the site on March 17. I spoke with a Fred a few months back. He told me he was sick for a while. We spoke about his massive dvd-rom scan collection that he was selling (over 60,000 images!!!), because I bought it and we got to talking (and that explained why he just stopped with the email after more vhs cover scans I sent over to him about a year ago with no reply). Man that really sucks. RIP Fred
