Haha, thanks for the supremely sweet imagery!
But yeah, I think that generally the reality is more closer to hmm.... Boy Wonder storming in to tell Batman of some urgent news?

i think there is kind of and unspoken rule on the forums (although some speak it) not to post hidden auctions, but anything with mego in the title or description is fair game....i think most anybody who buys on ebay will find these auctions on their own anyway.

personally i love to browse e-bay see something cool pop up and then see people react to it in the auction watch section, i have learned a lot about megos and the hobby from this kind of discussion

plus when something crazy comes up with mego in the title or description (ie solid box robin, carded ironman, ect) you can bet ANYBODY that may want to bid on it knows about it

just my 2 cents on the issue

There's been so many times I've asked how much something is and I get the "I want $15 for that. It's selling for $30 on ebay" price quote.
Oh I frickin' HATE that, and it happens almost every time I go out. Makes me very frustrated.
My response that I usually don't utter in front of them is 'well if I wanted to pay that, I would have already bought it on ebay!'

As far as ebay being boring for me, no way. I always have a PLETHORA of things to spend my collectible money on. Although finding the cheap deals, and especially cheap lots of 'unknown' with treasures in is few and far between, my tastes are so far and wide I'm constantly finding weird unusual things I've never seen before that I must have, as well as the constantly changing market of neat Japanese oddities.
My watch list at any given time have over 100 items on it I'll never be able to buy.

You know, you guys say that but last year on a lark, I put a MIB Micronauts battle cruiser in my yard sale for a buck.

NOBODY looked at it, I had great traffic too (I'm a block away from a Tim Hortons).

It made me wonder if my neighbourhood is a gold mine.

Truthfully, I feel like I see good bargains/deals all the time on ebay. the problem is, it's not usually something I'm looking for/need for myself, and the increase of USA ONLY sellers means I can't buy it to flip.

I have mixed feelings about "tip off's", but I have posted non hidden (usually non-mego) items that I thought were a good deal in the past here in auction watch.
