Probably because it's spring and more people are doing fleamarkets and dirt-malls (sellers and buyers)

I've found it boring in a way the last few years.
Seems to me that when I started doing eBay about 7-8 years ago, there was more personality in the auctions. People weren't afraid to use humour, or be informative, or tell a story about the items they're selling.

you could tell the item was being sold by "just a guy/girl" selling stuff at home for extra cash. Now it seems like every auction is just "here it is", seems too much like everybody does it as a business and it doesn't have that fun feeling of people connecting through the passing of a loved item to somebody else who's going to appreciate it.

having said that, I'm just as guilty as anybody else for being boring these days. "Here's the t-shirt, Here's the measurments, here's the description" blah. I used to make decent money on my old raggedy punk tee's because I'd actually talk up the fact that it had a hole in the arm pit, bleach spots etc, because "hell its a punk tee!" not some mall store bought perfect condition tee.

Or maybe I'm a little drunk and ive completely misunderstood this thread and should get off the internets tonight.

I think ebay is boring these days because nearly everything for sale is very neatly ordered, filed and fits into a very specific price range for the most part. Who would want to go to a yard sale or auction where every single item was researched beforehand and priced within 10 cents of the going rate? The selling marketplace has become way too organized/informed in my opinion to the point where there are no real bargains to be made or surprises to be had. Predictability= Boooooriinnggggg!

Thats pretty much how every yard sale/flea market I go to is these days. Everyone knows the value of everything. All those stupid Storage Shows, American Pickers, Pawn Stars have made everybody think everything is a holy grail. And of course ebay has ruined most of the experience. There's been so many times I've asked how much something is and I get the "I want $15 for that. It's selling for $30 on ebay" price quote. I always want to tell them to sell it on ebay then. So frustrating...Last year I found some original NES games at a Flea Market. I asked the guy how much they were and he told me it depends on the ones I wanted. So I picked one out and he pulled out his Iphone to check what the price on ebay was before he told me how much he wanted for his copy.

If a seller pulled that crap if I was at a flea market, I'd walk away as soon as he pulled out his phone.

Ebay has definitely gotten suckier. Whenever I do a search now, it seems like the majority of items that show up are BINs with ridiculous, pie in the sky prices that have been sitting there for months. What a waste of time. I really miss the old days of ebay.
